Privacy Policy
How IYI CREATIONS LTD looks after your information — on this website, and inside the GBOMI app.
1. Who we are
IYI CREATIONS LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the company behind this website and the GBOMI app. We are the “data controller” for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. We are registered in England & Wales under company number 17389304.
2. The short version
- If you join the GBOMI waitlist, we collect your email address and your answers to a few optional questions, so we can tell you when GBOMI launches and build a better product. We do this only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- The GBOMI app itself collects no personal data. It runs entirely on your device, works offline, and does not send your documents or your reading anywhere.
3. The website & waitlist
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Optional questionnaire answers: what you’d mainly use GBOMI for, how a one-time price feels to you, whether you’d help test an early version, and — if you would — your phone type.
- Your marketing consent — recorded when you confirm your subscription (see below), including the date and time.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is your consent (and, for the marketing emails, consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, “PECR”). We use your information to:
- notify you when GBOMI is available and send occasional related product updates; and
- carry out product research — understanding demand, pricing and device spread — to build the right app.
We use a double opt-in: after you submit the form, MailerLite emails you a confirmation link, and we only add you to the waitlist once you click it. That confirmation step is your explicit, verifiable consent — so we don’t rely on any pre-ticked box, and you’re only ever emailed if you asked to be.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling beyond simple, aggregate product research.
Who processes it — MailerLite
Our waitlist and email are handled by MailerLite, who act as our data processor under a data-processing agreement. Your details are stored on MailerLite’s systems solely to provide this service to us. You can read about MailerLite’s own privacy practices on their website. We choose privacy-respecting settings and do not share your data with other third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you unsubscribe, or until the GBOMI waitlist is closed after launch, whichever comes first. If you withdraw consent or ask us to delete your details, we will remove you promptly.
Your rights & withdrawing consent
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, and to data portability. Because we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — this won’t affect anything done before you withdrew. To do so you can:
- click unsubscribe in any email we send you; or
- contact us at hello@iyicreations.com.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies & analytics
This website is a simple, static site. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It loads web fonts from Google Fonts to display type; if you would prefer no third-party requests at all, your browser or an extension can block these without breaking the site. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
4. The GBOMI app’s privacy
GBOMI’s privacy isn’t a policy bolted on afterwards — it’s the architecture. This is a genuine selling point, so we’ll state it plainly:
- Everything happens on your device. The voice engine (Kokoro) is bundled inside the app and runs locally. Your documents are read where they sit.
- Your text never leaves your phone. Nothing you read, import or type is uploaded — there is no server to upload it to.
- No account, no sign-in. GBOMI does not ask who you are.
- No tracking, no telemetry. The app does not monitor what you read or how you use it, and contains no advertising trackers.
- Works offline. GBOMI functions fully with no internet connection.
GBOMI offers an optional one-time purchase to remove the daily time limit. This purchase is handled by the app store (e.g. Google Play), not by us directly — the store processes your payment under its own terms and privacy notice, and we don’t receive or store your payment details. Making the purchase doesn’t change how GBOMI reads your documents: that stays entirely on your device. If we add any other internet-connected feature in future, we’ll make it clear in the app and update this policy.
5. Children
The website waitlist is intended for adults. Please don’t submit your details if you are under 16. GBOMI itself is a general-purpose reading tool and collects no personal data from anyone.
6. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes affecting waitlist subscribers will, where appropriate, be communicated by email.
